I just thought I'd ask you to pray for Mary.

It turns out that the supposed allergic reaction to HRT which has caused her left ankle and half her leg to swell, is in fact a DVT. She has been in agony for 7 weeks and until yesterday no-one has realised what it is. Thank God for her GP. She had an emergency dash to hospital and was started on bood thinners and sent home. This morning she had a phone call from the hospital saying they had found "something" in the vein and would she go to the hospital immediately.

Your prayers would be much appreciated - I will let you know when I hear further.

Love
Jeanxxxx

All the very best to Mary, hope she will soon to start to feel a lot better. In fairness to the doctors DVT's are exceptionally hard to diagnose especially in those with existing conditions and on so many treatments already. That said seven weeks of pain and anxiety is a lot to put up with.

H All

Just had a chat to Mary who's more than a bit shell-shocked.

She has seen a surgeon this morning (no-one told her why a surgeon as opposed to a doctor) who says that there is a "problem" with the blood supply to the nerves in her leg. Also, the blood supply is not getting through the veins or arteries as it should.

She has a rheummy appointment tomorrow and is then back for more scans on the leg on Friday.

Meanwhile, she is still in agony and finding walking very hard.

Her GP told her that the clot is moving up her leg, which was more than a bit upsetting.

Can't really tell you much more, but Mary says a huge thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts.

Hi Jean

I think possibly the reason they've asked a surgeon to review is because there is a danger if it starts to move it can reach a vital organ (ie heart, lungs, brain). My brother had a serious DVT in his thigh, which like Mary's wasn't diagnosed immediately, he was treated for an infection. The clot moved to his lung and he was rushed to hospital in agony believing he was having a heart attack; he was 42 at the time! They discovered the clot and it was 'busted', by laser I think, and the tiny bits were then dissolved by medication. They will likely be re-scanning to check the movement perhaps with a view to 'busting' it if it hasn't started to breakdown on it's own.

Do hope Mary makes a speedy recovery and the medication works quickly. Thinking of her,

Lyn x

oh Lyn lets hope that is the case quickly for Mary, that the clot can be zapped into bits and not bother her further. that lady has been through so much it really is not fair.

much love and prayers for her peace. she must be scared.

Surely she should be being kept an eye on in hospital?
